tyro workshop - Land Rover

Whilst opening admitting that I am a complete novice mechanic, having only ever dabbled with cars, that doesn't mean I don't have a burning desire to expand my knowledge and accomplish something that I can be proud of, and share with my daughter.

My daughter arrived with us on Christmas day 2014, my Land Rover (Leif), arrived five days later, having been purchased December 20th but needed to be transported from Denmark, WA

I have decided to throw myself well into the deep end, and challenge myself to do a full nut an bolt restoration of the Land Rover, a 1969 Series 2A, long-wheel base station wagon, affectionately called Leif after the man I bought it from.

My dream is to one day be able to go on trips with my wife and daughter, and look back at this record of my efforts and be proud to say, "I did that!"

I have set no time frame to complete the works trying to remove un-necessary pressures from the challenge; so please bare with me, this could be a long journey!!

  1. Hey Tyro -
I am in a similar state as you. Got my 1970 Series 2A and I am learning bit by bit to do all the repairs and fixing up. It is a joyful experience. Good luck!
